Lanzarote, January 21st - February 4th 2027
The Enduroman team lead this informal and relaxed sea swimming camp, designed to bring athletes together in a supportive and motivating environment. You’ll meet future A2A athletes, and some previous competitors return, creating a strong and inspiring community.
During the camp, you’ll build lasting friendships and receive invaluable guidance and support from both the Enduroman team and your fellow swimmers.
This camp is also open to aspiring Channel swimmers, athletes preparing for other long-distance swimming events, or anyone simply looking to enjoy structured sea swimming training in the sun.
Both weeks follow an identical schedule, and athletes are welcome to attend either week or the full two-week programme.
Please note: We are no longer able to accommodate partial-week attendance or flexible date options, as maintaining appropriate safety numbers on the water is a priority.

CAMP OBJECTIVES
In Lanzarote, Enduroman creates an environment where athletes can safely explore their physical limits while learning from and supporting one another. Experience from previous years has shown that individuals quickly come together as a team, encouraging each other to achieve far more than they initially believed possible.
Enduroman’s goal is that every athlete targeting Arch2Arc leaves the camp with absolute clarity on how to prepare for a successful Channel swim — following the 80-mile run to Dover — equipped with the knowledge, confidence and practical experience required for the challenge ahead.
WATER TEMPERATURE & Weather
The sea temperature is normally around 18-19°C. Wetsuits are optional.
Regarding the weather, Lanzarote is known for its winds, which can occasionally make conditions unsafe for swimming. On such days, we will aim to relocate to a more sheltered spot and adjust the planned activities. In rare cases where this isn’t possible, the day’s swim may need to be cancelled.
The Lanzarote swim camp was truly transformative for me — and great fun as well.
I can hardly believe how much swimming I managed to do! It was also a valuable opportunity to learn from the accomplished and experienced swimmers and triathletes in our group. I received helpful feedback on areas I really needed to improve, such as feeding while swimming, with plenty of chances to practise and refine different approaches. We also benefited from essential Channel swimming technique observations and advice from JC, along with his insightful and informative talk on A2A. A big thank you to Claire and the whole team!

SWIM NUTRITION
Sport nutrition is not easily or cheaply available on the island so please bring your own. It is important to find foods that work for you during long swims.
Please bring your own drinks bottles:
Plastic bottles only – these will be passed/thrown to you while you are in the water. Metal bottles can cause injury if a throw is slightly off target.
Clearly label each bottle with your name so we can quickly identify it among others.
Consider bringing some solid fuel options to practise feeding during longer swims. We will provide suitable containers for sea-based feeds.
YOU MUST BRING WITH YOU:
Tow Float (with a long leash) - this is absolutely essential. If you do not have one, you cannot swim.
Suncream
Lubricant (Vaseline) to prevent chaffing in salt water (expensive to buy on Lanzarote)
A named bag or cool bag to leave on the beach during swims for your feeds
Woolly hat and warm clothes for after swims
A head torch and hi-viz, if you intend to do the night run
If you are using a wetsuit, we highly recommend buying a Mugiro Wetsuit neck protector from Amazon
“During the week I built a huge amount of confidence and knowledge of open water swimming and The camaraderie between the swimmers was great”
— Daniel Coughlan (Successful A2A finisher)
