Your Arch2Arc Slot

We have reserved a 10 day Arch2Arc slot for you in which to complete your Enduroman Arch2Arc attempt. This 10 day slot is made up of a 6 day swim booking with 2 days either side for completion of the run and bike stages.

You have a maximum of 48 hours before the agreed swim start in which to complete your run. This means that at 00:01 on the first day of your allocated 10 day Arch2Arc slot is the earliest possible time you could start your Arch2Arc attempt. You need to be within 5 hours of travel to Marble Arch from 19:00 the day before slot starts.

The 6 day swim booking will be under a separate contract with your pilot. All paperwork relating to your pilot’s contract and the relevant Channel swimming body governing your attempt will be sent to you separately by your pilot at a later date. We will liaise with you and your pilot prior to your attempt to ensure the completion of all necessary paperwork. It is the athlete’s responsibility to fulfil the obligations of their contract with the pilot, including making the necessary payments on time. If failure to do so results in a cancelation of the swim, there will be no refund of your Enduroman fees.

To Secure Your Slot

  2. The first instalment of the Enduroman Fee, £2,100, is to be paid within 2 weeks of the date this contract was issued. This instalment secures your slot and is non-refundable and non-transferable.

If you fail to secure your slot before either of these deadlines, we reserve the right to offer your slot to another athlete or team. Under these circumstances you would lose any fees already paid to us.

Your Pilot’s Fees

By signing this contract you also undertake to pay your pilot’s non-refundable and non-transferable booking and escort fees as will be detailed on your pilot’s contract. Your pilot and the relevant Channel swimming governing body are professionals contracted by you to escort you across the English Channel during the swim stage of your Arch2Arc attempt.

If you do not abide by the pilot’s, or the relevant Channel swimming governing bodies, terms and conditions and their requirements for payment, we reserve the right to cancel your Arch2Arc entry immediately. In these circumstances you would lose all payments made up until that point to all parties.

Your Arch2Arc Attempt

Your attempt will be carried out in accordance with these terms and the race rules, as set out at:

https://enduroman.com/rules

Terms and conditions:

1. Your health and safety and that of your crew is our overriding priority. Any decision made by us or your pilot during your attempt will be final. We reserve the right to abort your attempt at any point on these grounds if we decide that you/team, or your support team’s actions are unsafe.

2. Enduroman cannot at the time of sending this contract say with certainty how athletes and support crew may or may not be affected when entering France from the Channel swim escort vessel, specifically at the transition stage from the boat to the bike at the French Port, Calais. You should be aware by signing this contract, you agree that you and your boat support crew may be required to return to Dover directly after the swim finish to enter France via Ferry/tunnel and pass-through official Border Controls.

3. This contract will be subject to Government imposed restrictions relating to the UK’s Brexit agreement with the EU and to any COVID-19 or similar health or travel restrictions. In the event of cancellation by us due to Government imposed restrictions there will be no refund of fees paid to date.

4. If there is a significant change to the event, it would be recorded separately and any future attempts or records made in the same format will be recorded under the new rules. However, the Enduroman # number for successful attempts would be maintained.

5. Enduroman reserve the right to make changes to the bike or run course to ensure the safety of the athletes, athlete’s support crew and observers.

6. To ensure the smooth running of all the attempts, we have the authority at any point, when faced with unusual or extenuating circumstances (this includes any future Viral (COVID-19) National or cross-border restrictions, to override any of our race rules, as far as is reasonable within the spirit of maintaining a level playing field across all attempts.

7. If your attempt is cancelled due to being blown out*, Enduroman will endeavour to offer you an alternative slot later in the same season, or, if that is not possible, potentially during the following year, if additional slots become available. Should no suitable slot be available, or if you are unable to accept an alternative due to other commitments, the following process will apply:

• You will receive a 50% refund, excluding the non-refundable booking fee.
• You will be offered a full-price prime Arch2Arc slot two seasons later, with the booking fee waived for that allocation.

8. If the weather forecast changes after completion of or during the run, so delaying the swim start, the athlete may extend the recovery period in Dover until the last day of the contracted swim window to wait for an opportunity to swim. If a swim is not possible during the window, then the event is terminated. The same process as a blowout will apply.

*Blown out refers to a situation in which no suitable or safe sea-swimming conditions are available to permit the athlete’s Arch2Arc swim to proceed and therefore the challenge cannot take place. In 2025, for example, one athlete out of 12 was blown out, but we were able to offer him another slot later in the season (he completed the event).
