New Enduroman Distance Event
Enduroman are delighted to launch the ‘Elephant 2 Castle’ this summer, an event prompted by travel restrictions and one that we intend to continue running into the future.
With a bike stage following country roads in southern England, this extreme challenge is (arguably) tougher than Arch 2 Arc …
The Elephant 2 Castle Challenge
So, how tough is it?
85 mile Run - from Elephant & Castle in South London to the seafront in Dover.
Channel Swim – swim across the English Channel, after which the athlete is taken by boat from their swim landing site on the French coast straight back to Dover Marina.
200 mile Bike (height gain over 10,000 ft) – from Dover Marina to Windsor Castle taking the long way, passing through the High Weald AONB, the base of the Surrey Hills and the South Downs.
Who will be Elephant1?
Steve McHugh (GB) will be the first athlete to attempt the Elephant 2 Castle. Steve has a slot to attempt the Arch 2 Arc at the beginning of August and has so far raised over £4,000 for charity. Steve and his support crew are ready to go and have decided to stay with their allocated slot dates and take on the Elephant 2 Castle rather than waiting for a delayed Arch 2 Arc start.
Steve will start the run down to Dover as soon as the weather permits during his allocated slot 6th – 15th August. Please watch our Twitter feed for updates on Steve’s start time. Once he has started you will be able to follow his progress using our live tracker link here.
Steve is raising money for local Merseyside charities. Please use the fundraising link here to support him.
***ALDERNEY TO WEYMOUTH NIGHT PADDLE, FRIDAY 28TH MAY***
Congratulations to Edgar Ette (Enduroman #1) and Tim Ellis (who ran, kayaked and cycled the Arch 2 Arc challenge in 2012) who successfully paddled their individual sea kayaks from Alderney in the Channel Islands to Weymouth.
We believe it is the first time kayakers have completed this route - an epic 80+ mile paddle which took Edgar and Tim through Friday night and into Saturday, a total of just under 17 hours.
Tim and Edgar are raising money for Weldmar Hospicecare, a local Dorset charity. If you would like to donate please visit their Justgiving page.
Congratulations Edgar and Tim!
You will find your way.
Arch 2 Arc

Run 87 miles
Swim the English Channel
Cycle 181 miles
*** NEW MEN'S RECORD ***
Many congratulations to Lionel Jourdan (France) who in August 2020 successfully completed his solo Arch 2 Arc attempt in 49 hours 24 minutes, setting a new men's record.
